Arab Armies ----Syria

The Latest in my Arab Armies series---Syria
From the left to the right, we have a Paratrooper wearing a 'wooly pully' jumper and Pakistani camo derived trousers-derived from Belgian Brushstroke camo. He carries a AKMS and Chicom style pouches for it, Makarov pistol in a canvas holster and he wears on both sleeves the rank badges/stars of a Warrant Officer also a Syrian Para wings and a lanyard in Royal Blue.
Sidon, Lebanon in 1976, the Syrians were fighting the PLO factions controlled by Mr Arafat---- for some reason they didn't like the guy!
Well the Syrians were fighting anybody who didn't agree with them!
Next we have a member of the Defence Companies who were formed from Alawites who were extremely loyal to the Assad family. This trooper is involved with putting down an Uprising in Syria itself, in 1981-2 the 'Muslim Brotherhood---boo hiss---' fomented a civil and quasi military' uprising based around the Hama region of Syria and this was crushed very brutally by the Syrian 'Security forces i.e.-Assad Security' Forces including the Defence companies. Our man carries a Russian made LPO50 flamethrower to clear out the nasty rebels, as well as a Soviet gas mask for close house to house burning. The town of Hama was virtually gutted and the population murdered, does this ring true now in Syria----- yes but who cares now that 'pencil neck Assad' is fighting IS, Well THE Iranians and Hezbollah are. He also has an East GERMAN M56 helmet and wears a Syrian copy of the US M65 jacket dyed brown-why they copied the m65 I'm not sure but there was a lot of them about in Syria.
