The picture is by 'Shobie -stock', now to the details, another 'Modox Chimera' patt try out, guess what some are hidden. Also tried a gradient to simulate shadow and light, does it look ok?

Instead of using gradient, use brushes or anything else your program offers. In Photoshop, there's a tool brush that simulates shadow and light.
I guess you could use normal paint brush, and then just set opacity/flow to make it a bit transparent, normally i would guess you should set the opacity around 20% and have a smooth brush.
And for light, you just select (white) color and do the same.
But all that above should be your second choice, if there's no shadow tool in your program already ^^
(I write this in a hurry so my hotdogs don't get burnt)
